Kluang Station, Ikano Power Centre

Since we started this blog, we never give any bad reviews but I'm going to start with one. Wei Nee and June weren't around that Friday, so the 3 musketeers left only me. See Keat suggested to eat some pork noodle but Jaclyn wanted to eat somewhere that's air conditioned. Somehow we ended up in Kluang Station at Ikano.

It took forever for the waiter to actually show up and get our order, then he messed up our order. Ivan's rice didn't come, and it took so long for them to check and it only served after every one else finished their meal. Susan complained her fried rice was very dry and she needs to eat with tomoatoe sauce. I had beef rendang rice, the beef was tough and dry like stones. I feel like I can use the beef to throw at people and cause a head injury! I didn't have coffee that supposedly to be very famous, but according to them....it wasn't great either.

Oriental Chicken Chop

Beef Rendang Rice

Susan's "super dry" fried rice with chicken wing

I can't remember how's the price like, since Yee was the person who settle the bill first, I remember mine came to about RM15.00, I was so reluctant to pay that kind of price to have this type of food.

Conclusion: It's my first and last time there, bad service, bad food and ridiculously priced!

Sushi Groove

One thing 3 of us can testify to is that we lurrveee Japanese food!! .. so there's no argument when either of us say that we wanna go for Japanese :-)

Sushi Groove has been opened for a while and since none of us have tried it before, we decided to try it out. Also if memory not failing me, it was a pre-Merdeka holiday and all of us were in a holiday mood already (yes yes, very overly delayed post!)

The interior of the place is definately very different from typical Japanese restaurants. They seem to have a green motive going .. everything from the lights, the menu and the plates/eating utensils were green!! They even have a communal seating arrangement going on. It's pretty much like the sushi belt type arrangement however this time take away the sushi belt and have a huge dining table instead. However for the shy type, they also have individual tables however it's rather limited. I liked the menu very much as not only do they have very yummy looking pictures and very interesting food name...they also have pictures depicting the name of the food ...

First on the menu was Mayonaise Dream Roll. I actually read a review from another blogger and she was raving bout how nice it was. Conclusion .. it is nice .. if you like lotsa lotsa mayo!!

Next on the list was Dynamite Ball. The difference between the Dynamite Ball and Mayo Dream Roll was that the Dynamite Ball had a slice of salmon with it. Oh and no seaweed :P

Next was the Firecracker Roll. This was a good choise :-)

Lastly we had the Tokyo Meltdown. This was another good choise. Rather different from your typical sushi rolls. Basically this was one huge roll by itself and you juz dig in :-)

Overall, other than the ambience which was rather different and the food presentation, I had eaten much better Japanese. I find the pricing a tad high as the size of the rolls is smaller of a roll you get in a more established restaurant .. like Rakuzen! Also taste wise .. I wasn't very impressed. However just the other day a friend of mine was mentioning that this was a good place to eat .. so I guess the menu is pretty much touch and go. So if you're planning to go, get advice from friends who's been there to get something recommended!

Souled Out

Ahhh … finally … after months of planning, discussion and much anticipation, we had our inaugural after office dinner and drinks at Souled Out. Of course it HAD to rain .. hasn’t been raining in the evening for ages and it just HAD to … thank god for free valet!

Souled Out as usual . packed packed packed .. you would think being a weekday people would go home. Anyhowwww … the area we got was stuffy due to the rain and the waiter supposedly will look for a better place for us to sit apparently didn’t do his job. Regardless this place is always a great place to hang out

After studying the menu which had really yummy looking pictures of food .. our mains for the night was *drum roll* Yee – Lamb Chops, WN – Butter fish, Jaime – Salmon, SC – SangHar Mien (she didn’t need the menu – she had already made up her mind before lunch!!) and myself – sake san … the rest had interesting names to their dishes but I can only remember mine and SC .. haha

After dinner .. Yee still had room for dessert!!!

We tried their wine of the month .. erm .. like it was appropriately worded that nite ‘no kick’ … so we ended up getting more drinks except for Yee who got ICE LEMON TEA

All in all great start of nitez out … … Mooncake festival coming .. ..

Hmm .. seems we didnt exactly update the blog for a while now. Things have been absolutely hectic in office and unfortunately the blog has been sidelined .. (meaning lazy lah :P)

Anyway, a few Fridays ago (memory failing on exact date), unable to come up with anything creative, we decided to have ‘tai chow’ @ SS2. We’ve been here before however the hunger in us prevented us from taking any pics the last time :P

Anyway food here is not bad .. pricing quite reasonable I should say. The si tau poh running the place is rather quirky .. I thought I had trouble understanding her (Cantonese maaaah) .. who knows WN didn’t know what she was saying too … heheheheehhehe

Below are pics of our lunch;

Part of the lunch kaki ....

Here's some info on the place;
Venue: Restaurant Shanky (i think .. )
Location: SS2 - Behind Chow Yang
Pricing: Ard RM12 per person

Black Canyon Coffee @ B.U CentrePoint

June suggested this place since last week. Sounded like a western food place, but just found out that it's actually a Thai restaurant with pasta in Thai style. I'm not a big fan of hot & spicy food, so this is not a really good experience for me.

June FFK today and join her friend in KL for lunch. But we have a few new colleagues joining us this time.

We were sitted in no air con area, plus the food is kinda spicy for me, i was sweating like mad. Susan is also not good in taking spicy food, her face was as red as red indian..haha :p See-Keat, Ivan & Siew Chee looks just fine with their food.
